Daniel had a great session with the speech therapist this morning. He was able to show that he could read the difference between YES and NO in large print. He was able to follow many commands such as to touch different parts of his body. He was able to respond to various questions with appropriate head nods. He really impressed her by holding his cup and drinking water. She felt that he is ready to do some swallowing tests so he can start moving towards solid food. The occupational therapist had him transferring from a wheel chair to a bath tub. He was able to cooperate with her and got that done. I am working with Dr. Kaelin on helping him rest more at night and managing his headaches so he will have more energy for therapy.
