Dar City Center - DCC - Zambia, Cape Verde Exit 2015 Africa Cup of Nations Former champions Zambia and the Cape Verde on Monday exited the on-going 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Equatorial Guinea. DR Congo team qualified for the quarter finals of the 2015 Afcon The Chipolopolo of Zambia, champions in 2012 settled for a goalless draw against Cape Verde Islands at the Ebebiyin Stadium, while DR Congo and Tunisia drew 1-1 other Group C match. The draw for DR Congo meant that they finished on three points each with Cape Verde, but with a better goal difference. Ahmed Akaichi finished off with a header in the 30th minute after a well taken Yasine Chikhaoui cross. After the interval, the Tunisian team continued to create chance after chance, but failed to increase the score line. On 65 minutes DR Congo substitute Loteteka Bokila made it 1-1 with a fine finish. English based forward Yannik Yala Bolasie kept the Tunisia defenders on pressure, but the Dr Congo could not get more goals. DR Congo will now face Congo Brazzaville in the first quarter final on January 31, before Group B table leaders Tunisia battle host Equatorial Guinea in the second quarter final tie the next day. Action continues on Tuesday with South Africa facing the Black Stars of Ghana at the Mongomo Stadium , while Group C table leaders Senegal battle Algeria in the other match to take place at the Malabo Stadium.
