Darkness ascends with the opening of my eyes. The new vision - TopicsExpress

Darkness ascends with the opening of my eyes. The new vision expected is not one of surprise. Reasoning of such confounds me to thinking I was no more. I must have hallucinated such a nightmare so impure. A ruffling sound above me confirmed what I cant ignore. Stood still on Pallass head above my chamber door. The creature overhead draped in deathly black feathers. Its claws still as distinct as cracked leather. Eyes as dark as his bodys decor. To what purpose it hadnt moved I was unsure. Perhaps it was waiting to escort me to a more celestrial shore. Without a feather out of place it only spoke the one word of nevermore. Your job is done! I cried to the vision of what my eyes could not ignore. Take your leave and return to a more grave shore. Why then pray tell do you stay here for? If I have passed surely I can be with my beloved Lenore. Bird, show me that heavenly realm I so wish to explore. Quoth the raven, Nevermore. Standing firmly, I shortened the distance between bird and floor. Proving that my death was not as the creature had saw. Claiming my status before I knew what was in store. Suddenly it glided down past me with not a sound to its soar. Circling to the other side where Id been before. My sights fell upon an image which into my soul tore. As the raven flew around me I thought it was defeated. But there I was in the same position slumply seated. What trick is this?! I hollered at the bird next to my corpse on the floor. Silence confirmed he wasnt going to answer what I had asked for. Surely now I am able to see my beautiful Lenore. Quoth the raven, Nevermore. The raven hopped upon my breast and pecked at my eyes. It was just as uncertain that the body before it was lies? The darkness returned but more sudden than before. My soul was still present but the wretch forbid me from seeing Lenore. Though I can not see, I can explain to her what happened upon this floor. Quoth the raven, Nevermore. Then I heard a sound hatching. As if fingernails were scratching. But this noise was louder than any human could ensure. My tongue became numb and swollen like it was pierced beyond sore. Thou bladed beak has hushed me but I shall still find my sweetest Lenore. Quoth the raven, Nevermore. I had a plan to control this demon and to change the score. Raven, I ask that you have mercy and let me know more. He opened his wings and embraced my spirit into his core. The blackness remained and his eyes were the lights only open door. Then I witnessed her angelic form upon the floor. Quoth the raven, Nevermore. The word may have come from the bird as always before. But I mouthed each syllable like an echoing encore. I could not move arm nor wing to warn my lonesome Lenore. Seems this bird is more like a magpie with an eye for a shiny ore. He stole the treasure and left me empty and poor. Id be with the radiant and lovely Lenore nevermore. We stayed for years above my chamber door. Sadly staring at my lost and confused Lenore. Who remains standing upon the same floor. Asking the raven why I choose to ignore. One day my shape appeared next to her innocence so pure. My mirrored image replied the word Yours. If I was supposidly there, why was I still watching from the door? She wanted to know how long Id be with her for. The reflection of me answered, Forevermore. Adding of the stars he would give her a personal tour. Turning his attention towards the door. Telling me in the ravens grim voice the word nevermore. His eyes blackened and a knowing smile began to beguile. I realised his twisted plan so evilly vile. I was able to flap the wings and call for my endangered Lenore. But I was unaware this was not what she saw. A maddening creature squawking and flapping above the chamber door. She didnt look at me as warmly as she had done before. Reaching for the letter opener that lay next to my quill. Almost like he had ordered her to kill. Hurtling it towards me with a blood curling shrill. The blade hit its target fast and sure. I could not keep a hold with these trembling claws. My feathered form fell with a thud on that familiar floor. The vision had not faded like it did before. I heard him say he can show her so much more. I was unable to stop what was about to endure. Both figures began to sink steadily into the floor. Witnessing her descent into hell fires gore. To lay my gaze upon her nevermore. There is a darkend house resting on a darkened shore. Along the cold corridor youll find a chamber door. Inside is a stench so potent you will drop to the floor. Next to you is a crumbling skeleton, only this and nothing more. Except under you are the bones of a bird from the days of yore. Much gratitude I offer you for being my guest forevermore.
