Darleen and I joined many illustrious Shipmates, politicians, friends and Family to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Underway on Nuclear Power at Naval Reactors Headquarters today. I was honored to share my thoughts about this special occasion and speak about how nuclear power allows us to meet our mandate of worldwide forward presence. Todays event also included SECNAV announcing that the newest Virginia Class Submarine will be named in tribute to the father of the Nuclear Navy: USS HYMAN G. RICKOVER (SSN 795).
