Darn, Ive just been barred from sending Friend requests to people - TopicsExpress

Darn, Ive just been barred from sending Friend requests to people I dont know for 7 days. Which isnt techncially true. I have been recently been sending Friend rquests to people with whom I either have over 50 other people in common with or are professionals working in the comics or SF publishing industries withg whom I want to build a contact list in order to solicit paying work. Also, I have been building a solicitation list for my poetry collection IS SHE AVAILABLE? and short story anthology THE VILLAGE OF LIGHT. People who are either in publishing or I deem might be interested in reading my work. I also plan to offer promotional incentives, like free downloads of the ebook versions of my work to my Facebook friends who care to read my work. Tricks of the trade I have shamelessly borrowed from both Mr. Neil Gaiman and Ms Amanda Palmer who have written the rulebook on alternative means of reaching their audiences. This is my direct marketing plan for IS SHE AVAILABLE? To see if social media can effectively offer an inobtrusive means of building an audience for my work and to inform them publishign developments as they occur. Not really too different than what FB charges people money to do themselves. Is this one rule for the goose and another for the gander? Hmmmm...perhaps I should contact Zueckerbergs people and ask them. Would anyone else like to know about the restrictions that FB places on sturggling, unknown artists and writers to build an audience without resorting to massive advertising and promotional budgets. We do have a right to know, dont you think?
