Darren Aronofsky appeared at the Mill Valley Festival last night, so I asked him about working with Patti Smith. He said Patti pretty much begged him to write the song MERCY IS, for NOAH, while they were in Venice, and he told Patti, Of course you can write it. Result, if Paramount gets behind NOAH, Patti Smith may get a best original song nomination. The film itself, should certainly be nominated as best picture, as Its quite fantastic!
