Darren says Michael scared him. His face was like that of a devil. His face was like that of an ancestor spirit, like that of a spirit of fury for all the pain, suffering and exploitation of black and brown bodies around the world, for the murder and torture of 45 billion non-human animals per year, for the destruction of the lakes and forests that sustain us, for the lies, the apathy and the ignorance, for the sense of entitlement and justifications, for the destruction of hope, love, culture and ancestral wisdom, for the policed, incarcerated and excluded bodies, minds and souls, for the lives that continue to be lost in ocean crossings to bountiful shores, for the rape and violence against the feminine principle in all her forms and manifestations. Let this spirit of fury reign, let it avenge, let it destroy white supremacy, let it avenge the mothers and daughters, let it avenge the ancestors, let it strike for the dispossessed and the oppressed, let it burn down the accumulated wealth of those profiting from the torture of all life, let it burn away the maps and holy books that divide us, dominate us, own us and turn one against the other, let it annihilate the seats of all that hate-power (Ferguson, Washington, New York, Brussels, Amsterdam, Beijing, ec.), let it wash our minds clean of musings of peace, illusions of dialogue, cowardice in the face of discomfort and reconstruction; leave your masters house and join in with the spirit of fury in the field and burn it all down.
