Daryl - Aloha! I just wanted to post these verses about the kingdom of heaven in Matthew 13 today. JESUS is speaking a parable. He is speaking before the cross. He is speaking to the Jewish people. And it is interesting. Another parable He (Jesus) put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who SOWED GOOD SEED in his field; but while men slept, HIS ENEMY CAME AND SOWED TARES (basically weeds) AMONG THE WHEAT and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He (the owner of the field) said to them, ‘AN ENEMY HAS DONE THIS.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘NO, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. LET THEM BOTH GROW TOGETHER UNTIL the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ” (Matthew 13:24-30 NKJV) Daryl - remember this was spoken to the Jewish people. So it applies to them first. But we can take some things away from this as well. I wanted to draw attention to two things. The first thing is GOOD SEED. OBVIOUSLY THE OWNER of the field above is God and the vineyard is the Jewish nation (His possession). We learned earlier in this chapter that the WORD (Jesus) IS THE (good) SEED. God planted GOOD SEED! BUT, His crop grew up with TARES or weeds in it. So much so that the servants (workers in that field) asked about the competence of the owner, sir did you sow bad seed? The owner answered emphatically, An ENEMY (satan) has done this. Now, why would I want to bring this up? Because I found comfort in finding out that our Heavenly Father WHO DOES ALL THINGS WELL experienced the same issue that we sometimes face. I DID THE RIGHT THING...I FOLLOWED THE RULES...I DID WHAT I BELIEVED GOD TOLD ME DO. BUT THE HARVEST IS COMPROMISED! Did I do something wrong? Maybe you did and maybe you didnt. But it is good to understand that WE HAVE AN ENEMY that is very active in destroying and killing (John 10:10). Well, what do we do about it? TRUST THE SEED YOU SOWED! The Good seed. THE WORD OF GOD (Jesus) IS THAT GOOD SEED. The owners answer was to LET THE GOOD SEED AND THE TARES GROW UP TOGETHER...and at the right time He will direct us in ripping up the TARES in our lives and bring a GREAT HARVEST from the good seed sown. -So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; IT SHALL NOT RETURN TO ME VOID, BUT IT SHALL ACCOMPLISH WHAT I PLEASE, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11 NKJV) Daryl - dont you think that maybe Judas was a Tare in JESUS life? God didnt put Judas there. And JESUS didnt rip that Tare out? NOW, here is the conclusion of the matter, the second point I wanted to bring out. The TARES are gonna grow up all around you...because an enemy has sown bad things and bad people...just sayin! But dont get too bothered..THE GOOD SEED WILL ALWAYS PREVAIL OVER BAD SEED! IT WILL NOT FAIL TO PRODUCE! Paul talked about a thorn in the flesh. God told Paul 3 times, MY GRACE is sufficient! Gods love will prevail! His Word will NOT FAIL! Dont you focus on the TARES around you, FOCUS ON THE GOOD SEED, THE CHRIST, THE GRACE OF GOD and the TARES will take care of themselves.
