Data Visualization Developer Job (New York, NY, USA): Job Requisition Number:40670 The Role: Bloomberg is looking for a talented Data Visualization Developer to join a new business initiative. You will be working closely with a highly talented team of business stakeholders, data scientists, quants and developers to leverage Bloombergs unparalleled data, analytics and editorial content to create cutting-edge interactive products and analytical tools for our clients. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic group in a start-up like environment, working with cutting-edge technologies on a company-wide project with high visibility up to Bloombergs top executives. Qualifications: - B.S or B.A. (M.S/M.A or higher preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent experience - 3+ years of experience in Data Visualization and front-end/UI development - Strong JavaScript programming experience - Experience with Data Visualization libraries/tools like D3.js, three.js, Highcharts, and more generally, SVG, HTML5 Canvas, WebGL, etc. - Strong background in building interactive, user-friendly, visualizations displaying large, complex data sets using JavaScript (D3.js, etc.) Desirable Experience/Technologies: - Full-stack development in popular back-end environments with tools like Python, Ruby, or PHP is a strong plus. - Experience with the Python Scientific Stack (SciPy), especially Matplotlib, is a plus. - Familiarity with S, R, Matlab is a plus. - Background/experience in math, statistics or finance is a plus. - Coursework in Human Computer Interaction, Data Science, Graphic Design or another related discipline is a plus.
