Have u worked on type 1 and what cargoes have u carried on them. 3.In your opinion how do u rate the Indian COC in comparison with UK and Aus COC and their standards. Do u feel that we have to lower our standards compared to the others. 4.Taking over an Indian registered ship in Mumbai.( Procedure right from the Co and then Onboard ). 5.Entries into OLB and required as per what. What about foreign flag vessels. 6. Detailed entry into narrative section of taking over as master... 7.Then he started with certification as per conventions and chapter wise. Was very interested in the small details like intermediate or period bcoz when i told him he said most guys go wrong here.Took a good 15 min on certification. 8. what is port state control and its latest resolution. and CIC. 9.what are the maneuvering info onboard . 10. Damaged stability criteria for tankers. 11. FFA onboard and about foam general stuff why low and high exp and about fixed foam. 12. LSA onboard . As i was saying when i mention if Free fall life boat then l/rafts 100% on each side and rescue boat. Then he said what more ( he was looking if we have a free fall L/boat then the L/rafts on any one side shall be served by launching appliance (davit launched) which i told him later. 13. Hyper mist system. 14. Then he again went to chemical tankers and started tell me about them. Told him almost everything possible only the top stuff because he doesnt want to go in too deep. 15. Then he said SOPEP for oil tanker and P&A manual for Chem. Then when i started to tell him he smile like a crook.He tried this lot of places. Then went into Annex 6 general stuff. Then he asked me VOC Reg 15. I told him in general. Then he asked me which cargoes require so. I told him its for crude and product tankers. Yes thats true but what cargoes.( see the comments last) 16.Navigation part nothing at all only Ice navigation. 17.Cargo hague / hague visby / Hamburg and Rotterdam. Started he said i dont want anything except tell me why they came. Guys i didnt know even the limits properly but knew why they came see how lucky. 18.LOF and SCOPIC in general. 19. CLC and Fund and supplementary. Then he told me ok i need u to know somethings more in details 1. Ice navigation. 2. Hypermist. 3. L/Boat ... refer to ques 12. 4. VoC cargoes which require to be regulated.( For this read the reg it states that parties who need to regulate tankers at their terminals or ports shall notify IMO regarding 3 things 1) Type of tankers B) Cargoes which to be regulated. C) The effective date. Read the regulation it also says installations can accept tankers who dont comply with VECS upto 3 yrs from its effective date. I could find out 3 and ice nav i didnt know what he wanted.So in the evening when i went to him i told him the 3 and and told him i could find only few points for ice nav as my cell ran out. He asked me then what so i told him i will come tom 1st thing in the morning and tell u. He signed my EXN and told me come tom evening at 4 with ICE navigation. Next day even as i has the blue ink on my EXN was worried it wondnt turn red. I went in and he told me i have 1 min for u start. First 10 sec mouth was shut then i started and then in next 20 sec he stopped me and said go with again a crooky smile. Guys thats it small questions here and there single line ans i dont remember but am sure not so out of the way. He had health discussions on lot of topics learnt somethings from him. Through gentleman. I even had the audacity to tell him am not good in by heating stuff and he told me yes we too dont need ul to do that ...
