Date: 18th April, 2014 Total Shut Down of Passenger Reservation System (PRS) for undertaking System Modernization Works relating to Ticketing Data The Computerised Passenger Reservation System (PRS) is being still more technologically upgraded for the purpose of archiving ticketing data. Towards the same, backup systems have been commissioned and are undergoing field trials. As a part of these trials, the online testing of the systems will be undertaken on 20th April, 2014 between 11:30 hrs to 12:30 hrs and 15:00 hrs to 16:30 hrs. The testing necessitates the total shut down of the PRS between 11:30 hrs to 12:30 hrs and 15:00 hrs to 16:30 hrs on 20th April, 2014. During this total shut down period, the following services will not be available. 1) No ticketing through Reservation Counters on the entire South Central Railway (SCR) Zone. 2) No internet ticketing for trains originating on South Central Railway, Southern Railway and South Western Railway Zones. (However, online ticketing will continue unhindered for trains originating on all other zones.) 3) No PNR and other related enquiries. 4) No refund of tickets through the PRS system. The refund will therefore be arranged manually across the counters. 5) No Current Day Booking (CDB) facility. Inconvenience caused to the travelling public is deeply regretted.
