Please think before you comment ... Motor Vehicle Accident in Mandume Ya Ndemfayo Street Swakopmund in the vicinity of Mototec late last night. Two vehicles involved - a sedan vehicle and a bakkie travelling in the opposite direction involved in a partial head-on. Five people sustained injuries and the injuries were described as serious, less serious and minor respectively. The Swakopmund Fire and Rescue Services used hydraulic equipment to be extricate the driver of the bakkie from the wreckage and his condition were described as “serious”. All the injured were stabilized at the scene [E-Med Rescue 24 and Eagle Christian Centre Ambulance Service] before being transported to the Swakopmund State Hospital for further management and care. A special word of appreciation to all the relevant emergency and essential services who assisted at the scene: Swakopmund Fire and Rescue Services, E-Med Rescue 24, Eagle Christian Centre Ambulance Service, Nampol, Swakopmund Municipal Traffic, Swakopmund Neighbourhood Watch etc. The actual cause of the collision and the series of events preceding it remain unclear and will form the subject of a Nampol investigation.
