Date. 7th March, 2014 Grand Farewell to Shri A. Bharat Bhushan, Chief Commercial Manager, South Central Railway on his Demitting Office on Voluntary Retirement Shri A. Bharat Bhusahn, Chief Commercial Manager, South Central Railway retired from his service voluntarily today (7th March, 2014). At a grand farewell function held at Rail Kalarang, Bhoiguda, Shri Bharat Bhushan was felicitated by Shri P.K. Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Srivastava appreciated the hard work, compassion and foresight of Shri Bharat Bhushan and wished him all the best for his future endeavours. Other Senior officials and staff from Commercial and Operations Departments of SCR, representative from Railway trade Unions and welfare associations greeted Shri Bharat Bhushan with flower bouquets and bid farewell. While responding to the felicitations and greetings, Shri Bharat Bhushan recalled his defining moments in his distinguished career spanning over 32 years. He said that he exhibited fullest dedication and rendered hard work in the arena of railway operations with a view to bring laurels to railways. He narrated how he was helping poor and orphans for their studies, guided and motivated many Civil Service aspirants to achieve their goals. He thanked all the officials and staff of South Central Railway for their committed service and unstinted cooperation. Belonging to the 1980 batch of Indian Railways Traffic Service, Shri Bharat Bhushan started his career as Area Officer, Miraj and gradually ascended to the level of Chief Commercial Manager, SCR. He held several executive and managerial posts in Operations, Commercial and Safety Departments of SCR which include Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Director (Operations), Railway Board, New Delhi, Chief Freight Traffic Manager, Chief Passenger Traffic Manager, Chief Traffic Planning Manager, Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger Marketing). He also worked as Deputy General Manager, Chief Safety Officer / SCR and Officer on Special Duty (Godavari Pushkaram). An astute administrator, Shri Bharat Bhushan organised relief and rescue operations at the time of dislocation of train services due to accidents, agitations, natural calamities with a human face and acquired the name of “Best Crisis Manager”. With his able macro planning, he ran more number of special trains for the benefit of passengers. Shri Bharat Bhushan was the recipient of prestigious Railway Minister’s Award and General Manager’s Award for meritorious performances.
