Date: October 10, 2014 Ref: Burglary, Concord Township Lt. Todd Menmuir On October 10, 2014, at about 4:32pm; The Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a burglary in progress, at 9927 Country Scene Lane Concord Twp., Ohio. The resident had returned home and discovered a fifteen year old male hiding inside a bedroom closet. The resident detained the fifteen year old male until Sheriff Deputies arrived. Investigation concluded that the juvenile offender once resided in Concord Township and now resides in Geauga County. He approached this residence because he was familiar with another teenager who resides in the home. The juvenile offender knocked at the door and rang the doorbell to determine if anyone was inside the home. The juvenile offender then entered the unlocked home after receiving no response from his knocks and doorbell ringing. The resident had returned home within seconds of the juvenile offender making entry into the home. The juvenile offender had hid himself inside a closet and was discovered within minutes by the resident. The juvenile offender was arrested and his parents were notified. The juvenile offender admitted that he had intentions of stealing property from the home. He was even in possession of gloves and a duffle bag when he was arrested. The juvenile claimed that he selected this particular home because he had personal knowledge that no one was to be home. The juvenile offender will be held at the Lake County Juvenile Detention Center pending an arraignment.
