Date: Wednesday, 5th March, 2014 Passage: Ex 14:1- 31 Reference: Verse 11-12. They also complained to Moses, Wasnt there enough room in Egypt to bury us? Is that why you brought us out here to die in the desert? Why did you bring us out of Egypt anyway? 12 While we were there, didnt we tell you to leave us alone? We had rather be slaves in Egypt than die in this desert! CEV Thought: Misunderstanding God’s purpose. How it impressed me: Wasn’t there enough room in Egypt to bury us? Is that why you brought us out here to die in the desert? Why did you bring us out of Egypt anyway? Didn’t we tell you leave us alone? We would rather be slaves in Egypt than die in this desert. All these rhetoric questions were asked by the Israelites when they saw the Egyptians behind them and they did not understand God’s purpose. God deliberately camp the Israelites at Pi-Hahiroth near the Red Sea to prove that He is the Lord. He made the Egyptians pursued them but stopped the Egyptians with darkness from reaching the Israelites. He stayed behind the Israelites all along the journey but they did not realize. He made them walked on the dry land in the Red Sea which has never happened before. He made them see their enemies fallen before them without them raising a sword or a bow. He sent wind to open and close the path He made in the Red Sea. None of the Israelites died but all the Egyptians that entered the Red Sea died. If Israelites understood God, they would not have indicted or blame God for not helping them when they first saw the Israelites pursuing them.. Prayer: God, open my eyes and heart to understand your purpose for my life. Let me praise you instead of blaming you.
