Date of Notice: January 5, 2015 - Notice of Application for an Amendment to the Scripps Miramar Ranch Community Plan The purpose of this notice is to inform you of a Planning Commission hearing on a proposal to initiate an amendment to the Scripps Miramar Ranch Community Plan. The initiation will authorize staff to analyze and consider a request by Horizon Property, LLC/Sudberry Development, Inc. to redesignate an approximately 9.5-acre site at 9850 Carroll Canyon Road from Industrial Park to a land use designation(s) that would allow a mix of commercial and residential uses up to 29 dwelling units per acre. The Planning Commission hearing will be limited to discussing whether the proposed land use plan amendment meets the General Plan initiation criteria as in Municipal Code Section 122.0105. The staff recommendation is to initiate the plan amendment process. The initiation request does not constitute an endorsement of the project proposal. If the amendment process is initiated a staff recommendation regarding the project will be developed after the project has been fully analyzed (including community input). This action will allow the staff analysis to proceed.
