Dateline: Sunday 3 August 2014. Our Assistant Parish Pastor, Joseph Odile shared a message ‘HAVING THE KEY TO THE KINGDOM’ during our monthly thanksgiving service. The Bible reading was from Psalms 100:1-5.The key to the kingdom may be received as was the case with Peter in Matthew 16:13-19. Different scenario may be applicable with the key to the kingdom of God; a) People that received the key and never lost it e.g. Enoch and Elijah. b) Some lost it and got it back e.g. David, Abraham and Jacob. c) Some lost the key and never found it e.g. Judas Iscariot, Lot’s wife and Absalom. There are steps to acquiring this key; Revelation, trust in God and Obedience. Others include working with God, fearing God and meekness. Salvation is also a vital requirement in acquiring the key to the kingdom. Many people came out during the altar call to wither receive the key or discover their lost key. We pray that God endow us with the grace to desire and acquire the key to His Kingdom in Jesus Name.
