Daughter of fallen officer goes sky high to raise cash for COPS The daughter of a West Yorkshire Police officer who died in the line of duty is raising money for Care Of Police Survivors by jumping out of a plane. Abi Walker is joining nine other “kids of COPS”, who have all lost a father in the line of duty, who will be taking part in a tandem skydive on 19 July – the Saturday of the charity’s annual Survivors’ Weekend. Her father PC Ian Walker, 50, was on a motorcycle on his way to work when he collided with a car on Bolton Road, Bradford in October 2007. The group are aiming to raise £5,000 for the charity. Abbie is pictured in a charity video for the skydive. See it all here PC Walker joined West Yorkshire Police in 1980, serving in the Chapeltown, Killingbeck and Weetwood divisions before transferring to Bradford just before his death. The sky diving event is being organised by Vicky Moore, daughter of fallen officer PC Bryan Moore from Leicestershire Police. She said: “Each of us is immensely proud of the everyday sacrifice our fathers made to protect our streets. In return we wanted to push ourselves to our own limits to show the true bravery our fathers died with. “With COPS we – the kids – have made lifelong friends, achieved so much in or lives that we feel it is now that we gave back to the charity for all its done for us. COPS really does “rebuild shattered lives”.” Anyone interested in sponsoring the group can click here wypf.polfed.org/2014/07/03/daughter-of-fallen-officer-goes-sky-high-to-raise-cash-for-cops/
