Daughters of the King Devotional Be Flooded With Light “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12 (KJV) A lie received, meditated on and believed is a victory for the kingdom of darkness because it gives darkness permission to reign in our lives. When we walk in darkness, we become blind and unable see things far off. By the time we see something for what it truly is, it’s too late. We’ve already signed the contract, already endorsed it, already partnered with it, and have already said “I do.” However, a truth believed is a victory for the kingdom of God because it gives the light of God’s Word free course to rule and reign in our lives—making us like a well-lit home that has no need for artificial lighting. Jesus said “I am the light of the world. He that follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” There is a connection between light and life. God isn’t just trying to expose what is wrong in our lives just for the fun of it. He is fully aware of what’s wrong. He wants to get rid of the sin so that He can establish His Kingdom and reign in our lives so that we can have life as He has it. So many people think that God is trying to take something from them or punish them, when He is trying to bless them, set them free and place them on a firm foundation, bringing healing and restoration to their lives. He longs to be good to you. He longs to bless you. But will you let Him? The best way to bring change is to let God’s light flood your life, your home, and your relationships. Expose every dark place in your heart to His light. Conceal nothing. When we flood our lives with light sin has nowhere to hide. Everything is laid bare so that His pureness, love and grace can come in. Father, yes, I ask that You flood my heart with the light of Your Word. Go into every dark and shady place in me and flood it with light. You desire to help me, not condemn me. You desire to give me life, not give me death. I want to live, and if it takes You exposing things in me that I don’t want to see, I want it. I want to be like a well-lit home, filled with Your peace and blessed with Your love and life. In Jesus name’ Amen.
