Daughters of the King Reasons for the Storm A Better Way to Live “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29 (AMP) Early one morning, I decided to make a quick run to the grocery store. I ran inside and picked up one of the baskets near the front entrance and began to shop. As I’m placing different items in the basket, I begin to notice that it’s becoming increasingly heavy. I then picked up a gallon of milk and glanced at the basket that I’ve been carrying around the store, and wondered, “How am I going to carry this heavy basket with this big gallon of milk added to it?” Just as I was about to figure out a way, a gentleman stopped me. He said, “You know ma’am, you don’t have to carry that basket like that.” I didn’t understand what he was talking about until he walked over, pulled a lever from the side of the basket and suddenly transformed it into something that rolled on the floor. I laughed and thanked him for showing me a better way to carry something that had become so heavy. So many of us women today are walking through life carrying heavy loads that God never intended for us to carry. And just when we figure out how to carry one load, another one gets added on top of it. “How am I going to be able to bear this Lord. Things are already challenging as is.” Whatever situation it may be, God He hears you and He does for us the same thing that nice gentleman did for me in the grocery store. He shows us a better way. Jesus bore our grief and carried our sorrows on the cross (see Isaiah 53:4). He carried it and took upon Himself the weight of every burden. Allow Jesus the opportunity to step in, transform your life, and show you a better way to live! Prayer: My Lord, thank You for speaking to me. I receive Your grace and Your wisdom. Help me Lord. Transform my life and show me a better way to live. I’m not alone, You are with me. And I receive Your supernatural strength right now in Jesus Name.
