Dave Fawcett employed co-ordinator of the Visitor Centre and Donnybrook Regional Tourism Association advises local historian John Thompson has supplied the luggage trolley for a pop-up museum at the State Heritage Listed Donnybrook Railway Station. Mr Thompson runs the Donnybrook Historical Society, who controls the Communitys history and heritage collection located in the Donnybrook Museum. Much of the memorabillia is located at private residence, inclusive of the Mosaic Program and system provided by shire. Mrs Hickman, Tourism Organisation, Donnybrook Apple Festival, Visitor Centre, Friends of the Arboreta, is also now listed as a contact for the Donnybrook Historical Society as displayed at the Visitor Centre. They will open the museum for a bbq and coffee/tea on Sunday the 9th of November 2014. (hope the food will be outside from the collection :p , museum practices) Some real beaut ladies returned to Donnybrook this week, we put them in contact with Mr Thompson to open the Museum for them, it was wonderful and amazing the history they (the ladies) shared so willingly. A concern by quiet a few within many small towns with museum and archives collections, that hold much donated memorabillia and record, is who does the collection belong to ? Many shires provide premises for Historical Societys to store and work with the archival records of communitys, also to encourage to allow access for those who would like to view or search for information.
