Being the kind and caring person he is, Bert bought me a set of cassette tapes by a man named Jim Rohn. Bert made me promise to listen to them. He said they would help me. I kind of rolled my eyes and asked myself “What did I have to lose by listening?” I listened to the cassettes over and over and Bert was right! They changed my perspective on life! I learned all about personal growth, and Jim Rohn motivated me to not give up and to do whatever it takes to turn my life around. When you have faith in yourself you WILL succeed! With my newfound zest for life, I frantically searched for a new business opportunity. I needed to make money fast! I just needed a chance! And again, GOOD FORTUNE came my way! I came across an advertisement for a business opportunity meeting. I decided to attend and found out the opportunity was to become a distributor for a network marketing company called Nutrition for Life! I liked what I heard, stepped out on faith, and signed up right away for my distributorship. I came home later all excited and told Barb that we are going to become rich and become millionaires! Barb was not buying into my enthusiasm. She hit the ceiling screaming at me when she heard I bought into a network marketing distributorship and put it on our already stretched out credit card.....Finally she calmed down after I swore up and down that I’d make this work. I already spent the money, so we could only move forward. Luckily, Barb decided to work on the.... business with me. We both knew that we had to do whatever it takes to make this work or we were done! If it did not work, we would lose everything — our home, family, and what was left of our dignity! There was no safety net! The very first thing we did was attend a LIVE training hosted by our up-line sponsor — who also happened to be the very top distributor in the company. He was a multi-millionaire many times over and one of the smartest people I’ve ever met to this day! What personal development WILL do for you!
