Davey Headin’ Down Under! B&D Promotions The finishing touches have been put on a deal for Davey Heskin to drive for B&D Racing during the peak season of international races in Australia. Heskin was contacted by Brodie Tulloch via Facebook where discussions commenced about arrangements for Davey to come and race for the team. The details were finalised after a few messages and phone calls shortly after followed by the purchase of airfares and travel arrangements. Heskin finished 5th in the 2014 410 Knoxville Raceway track championship, ahead of some notable drivers scoring 10 top 10’s along the way. Davey picked up the championship hard charger award for 410 in 2014. He also won a Prelim A-main at the 2014 360 Nationals but unfortunately lost a motor whilst running 4th in the final. Davey, a resident of St Michael Minnesota drives the familiar red 56 Deluxe Crates 410 around the Midwest. He also competed 9 races in 2014 in the Upper Midwest 360 Sprintcar Series where he scored 1 win, 6 top 5’s and a total of 8 top 10’s from the 9 races he competed. Tulloch comments; I have watched Davey race at Knoxville and there were several appealing characteristics that suited our team. On track, Davey looks after his equipment whilst running the car very straight and fast. He also hits his marks on the bottom and is wise in traffic which are two very important techniques for the tracks he is to encounter in the hot summer this trip. The team has at the ready a fresh engine and newly built B&D race car with the latest equipment primed for a competitive hit out. Another important factor for our team is the fan interaction. We strongly believe in our team motto ‘APPEAL – EXCITE – INVOLVE’ and from what I have seen and heard about Davey, this will come naturally to him. We have a fun filled tour planned for Heskin and we are looking forward to his stay with us! Heskin’s thoughts: When Brodie first contacted me, he encouraged me to call around for references. I spoke to a few mutual contacts like Brooke Tatnell among others and I only heard positive things. Through our sharing of information, discussions and pictures of equipment along with regular updates, I felt the only thing left to do was to sign on for a fun tour down under. He was quite open about the team’s position and goals which I believe we will develop a great partnership from. Brodie conducts his team professionally just without the financial backing of the big teams. He may only have an open trailer but from what I have seen, we will have everything else we need to get a win. We will be taking on tough locals as well as Schatz but I am keen to prove that age old saying that ‘haulers don’t win you races’. I really look forward to meeting a whole lot of new fans in Australia. As the team add the final touches to the preparations, Brodie will run the car at Archerfield on December 13 to make sure everything is right come Boxing Day. B&D Racing has had a late kick off to the season as Brodie and Donna were happily married in July in the Philippines. Family comes first and a fantastic time was had by all overseas.
