David Cameron will be announcing his plans for full employment - TopicsExpress

David Cameron will be announcing his plans for full employment today - a phrase that will surely see much tea spat out in surprise across the country this morning. Yet Cameron appears to have invented his own definition of full employment. Its not zero unemployment, its not the end of long term cyclical unemployment, it just means having a higher unemployment rate than other major nations. That seems like saying you got full marks on a test because you were the best of a bad bunch. Regardless, Camerons employment claims are somewhat meaningless when you consider that the 3.5 million people who cant get enough hours of work are included in his employment figures, including of course everyone on a zero hours contract. To be a full employment nation surely you need the people in work to be fully employed?
