David Coppola says: Hey Tom, I found this on my very first dig with a Garrett 350 i got for Christmas! Im hooked for life now. I know what I have, a flat button. But I wanted to know if it is military or civilian and what era it is from. Based on my research I believe it is one of the early buttons as Leavenworth Hayden and Scovill was from 1811-1827. I want to confirm that as well. I believe it was made in Waterbury CT. I just havent been able to find one post online about a plain fronted one. I only see front printed, mostly military issue. Thanks so much! I will be a regular on here for sure. Its hard to read the backfont, but in person it is somewhat readable to the fullest. It has two stars on the bottom of the back button with Gilt up the back left side and L.H & S W. Ct down the back left side with a 100% plain front, and not from wear or corrosion. Thanks again. --
