David Glenn, Fred, 55, of Midland died Thursday, June 5, 2014 in Naples, Utah. David was born April 11, 1959 in Odessa, Texas. A visitation will be held Monday, June 9, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Crestview Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Lamb officiating. David lived in various locations before moving to Cisco in 1963. He graduated from Cisco High School. He worked in the oil industry in Cisco until 1981 when he moved to Midland and joined the Midland Police Department working in the patrol, narcotics, and detective divisions and as a K-9 officer. He retired after 25 years with the department. In 2006 he began working as a deputy with the Midland County Sheriffs Office. He promoted to Corporal in 2009. He was a Master Peace Officer. He was known as Papa to his grandchildren and many others. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Glenn and son, Andy Gene Glenn. David is survived by his wife, Shawn of Midland; mother, Phyllis Jean Glenn of Sargent, Texas; daughter, Emily Grandy and husband, Brian and their children, Joleigh and Madison of Midland; son, Trent Thompson and fiancé, Allie Cook of Midland; son, Cody Thompson and wife, Kristin and their daughter, Kynlee of Midland; daughter, Britni Thompson and her daughter Presleigh of Midland; daughter, Kassie Thompson and fiancé, Alex Rendon and daughter, Payzlee of Midland; son, Trey Thompson of Midland; son, Zach Boyd of Cisco, Texas; son, Joshua Boyd and wife, Melody and their children, Caleb, Tanner, Josh, Rhylee, Destanie, Payton, Charity and Princess of Cisco, Texas; brother, Michael Glenn and wife, Charlotte and their children, Rebecca and husband, Brian Williams, and their son, Christopher, and Jeremy Glenn and Sara Glenn all of Midland; sister, Janet Waldroup of Sargent, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Midland County Sheriffs Office Bullet Proof Vest Fund.
