David Moyes has once again reiterated that Manchester United will be making signings this summer despite the lack of activity so far in the window. Two rejected bids for Cesc Fabregas and one for Leighton Baines have been the only official movement so far by the club leading to worry that United won’t be adding to their ranks this year. But when questioned about the current situation with Fabregas after United’s 1-1 draw with AIK Fotball, Moyes remained coy on the Spaniard and reiterated that United will be buying players this summer. “I can’t say anything [about Fabregas],” Moyes said. “But there will [be signings] and they will come.” Fans have worried about Moyes’ approach to the transfer market because United have always typically done their business early on in the window but in his very first press conference, Moyes admitted that our transfer business this year may be done late on in August. “The way the transfer window is going I think some transfers will be done quite late in the window,” he said. So, it isn’t a surprise to see that United have only brought in youngster Guillermo Varela so far. However, Ed Woodward returned early from the pre-season tour over a fortnight ago for ‘urgent transfer business’ and with only just over three weeks left in the transfer window, there will soon to have to be a surge of activity from United.
