David Moyes special It has come out today in various media sources that David Moyes is to be sacked in the next 24 hours by Manchester United and I cant say Im surprised. Watching united yesterday against Everton was like watching a training game United had no hunger and no desire to go out and win, they started Nani on one side and Kiagwa on the other but could penetrate Everton and give the killer pass that could create and oppertunity it was painful to watch and when you looked to the bench to see if David Moyes had any ideas it was simple gloom clueless and out of his depth you realized that this manager just simply had not got the pedigree to take on the challenge of managing Manchester United. As alex ferguson stepped down David Moyes had been touted for years as a successor he had built a very good competitive Everton team but had only ever once finshed 4th and didnt even make the champions league was knocked out by Villraeal he had one FA Cup final appearance but lost to Chelsea. He was alex Fergusons choice at the end of the day most united fans would of been happier with a Jose or a Pep managers who could carry the burden who could replace the iconic man. I have said time and time again Moyes must not take all the blame Fergie left him with a big task as most of the players were coming to the end or simply were not United quality but Moyes had to show that he had a plan in place that his management style was something to look forward to going forward but the fact is none of that was applied. His football was dull and tactually got it wrong so many times. His first mistake was to get rid of the back room staff I thought if he is going to do this do it next season but make sure he has his feet under the table first , he then began taking training himself maybe at Everton he could do that but at United theres much more to deal with how can you train your team and watch younger players or chase targets or plan for the future this is what Sir Alex did not do he over saw training but was always chasing players or watching contracts or the youths or commercial stuff Manchester United is simply to big for one man to do everything. He then began to show loyality to Everton by not starting at United until July the 1st when his contract expired when in fact should of started straight away got his targets sorted sat down with the staff and asked ok whos got it and who doesnt? For Manchester United to only gain for points against the top 7 teams all season is a disgrace and in fact that team was arsenal they got 5 points sorry a point against spurs that still does not make it better, every team bare Arsenal in the top 7 have best United at old Trafford unthinkable!!! Records over teams such as Everton and Newcastle and west brom gone in a matter of 6 months. United now stand to finish 7th place with no trophy and no champions league football no European football they have been stuck in 7th for pretty much the whole season. Signing the likes of Juan mata giving Wayne Rooney 300k a week and the emergence of Adnan have only just papered over some very wide cracks it was always going to become obvious that the worse would happen. Lets not get confused by the fact that nobody expected united to beat Munich or too win the league but the expectancy was and always is finish in the top 4 United have a team and squad to finish in the top 4, the problem is and the reason Moyes will be sacked is that United dont have a plan it doesnt look like a team or manager to be excited about next season. The glazers are ruthless and if there team is not performing then the manager is to blame, I have heard people they will give him time United dont sack managers they have ferguson time but the truth is that was a different time period, Martin Edwards was in charge, the glazers look at United as a business if the buisness is failing then they will go out to put it right and future more there Amercian and dont come from the old school background of the Martin Edwards or the sir bobbys, and if they feel like the teams performance could hamper sponsorship deals then they will react. So what happens now well Ryan giggs and Paul Scholes look to take temporary charge until the end of the season, after that a new manager is set to come in but who? Louis Van Gael seems to be the bookies choice but I dont know if he is going to leave after the World Cup which goes on till July when does he take over and how do the transfer targets come in it would be very disruptive start to the new season. Juergen Klopp seems to be settled at Dortmund and very unlikely that he will take over. Lauret Blanc maybe a good shout but PSG lost out to Chelsea in the champions league and with all the players at there disposal you expect better. Diego Simone is a great shout Id love to see him come in but you have to feel if Madrid go on and win La Liga then why would he go to a team struggling and not in the champions league. Whatever happens United must act fast any mistakes from now until the start of next season could cost the club big time. Thanks for reading il be back tomorrow with the review of the weekends football and the raw review.
