Talks between Old Trafford officials and De Geas representatives have been ongoing for some time, but it is believed that both parties have been keen to find an agreement throughout. That is despite the fact that reports over a potential transfer to Real Madrid has been gathering pace. But Manchester United have made the 24-year-old an offer which will see him become the best paid goalkeeper in history. The five-year deal will be worth a reported £140,000-a-week, bringing the total value of the deal to £36.4 million.
