David update: Had an appointment with the ENT surgeon this morning. David is scheduled for an endoscopy and biopsies, Wednesday afternoon. The problem we are having is, the doctors have been unable to pinpoint where his cancer has started. There are areas with cancer, but none have proven to be the source. He will have multiple biopsies of the tongue, tonsils, esophagus, trachea, vocal cords, etc. Hopefully, they will find the source. Without a known source, radiation is more difficult as it is given in a general area, rather than on a focused spot. With the degree of difficulty in treatment, the survival rate becomes 30%, rather than 50%. Of course, as a friend pointed out, these are earthly statistics, not Gods. On the plus side, they are moving things along quickly and everyone is so kind and very knowledgeable.
