David was near death and he proclaimed Solomon King. He had some things to tell his son before he passed. He told Solomon to prove himself a man. And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn, the the Lord may fulfill His Word which He spoke and if your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel. Later after David had passed away, Solomon realizes what a great number of people there is and how little he feels in the midst of being king, so he prays to God. He ask for an understanding heart to judge his people, that he may discern between good and evil. He asks for wisdom, not riches or honor. ~Isnt this what we all need and what we want for our children...to follow and obey God...to have wisdom and an understanding heart, a heart and soul that loves God above all else...to know the difference between what is good and evil. So many people are confused, unable to determine what truth is and have no idea what it means to be honest and upright. It can be confusing when people interrupt the Bible one way and another person says something else entirely. It is confusing when actions do not back up the words we speak. It is confusing when we cannot tell what is right or wrong. Our only hope is in God, Himself and reading what His Word has to say to us. Remember His commandments and obey them. Follow God with all your heart, mind and soul. Trust in Him. Let ask for His wisdom. He will pour out His blessings according to His will and we will be richly blessed in His love, His mercy and His grace when we obey Him. We can give Him all the honor and praise for everything by honoring God in our lives each day. ~in the midst, we are small on this earth_there are millions of people who need Christ and we are His children...lets trust God and ask Him to give us wisdom and to live a life that pleases Him.
