Davids Charge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, my son, the Lord be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the Lord thy God, as he hath said of thee. Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God. Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed. [1 Chronicles 22:11-13 KJV] King David charges his son Solomon to build the house of God. Not only does he charge him with these words, the King lets his son know that only the Lord give wisdom and understanding. [v. 12] Solomon prayed for this same wisdom and understanding when he was appointed King over Israel by his father David. We have to know that knowledge, wisdom and understanding comes from God. We only gain this through revering the Lord. The Bible says The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. [Proverbs 1:7 KJV] Let us pray this day for knowledge, wisdom and understanding to be able to comprehend what God is saying to us through His Word. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
