Davis ESL Alumni to Speak to Faculty . . . The Davis High School faculty will have a unique opportunity to hear from a group of former Davis ESL students this coming Monday, January 27. The students, who are now teachers, store managers, nurses, entrepreneurs, college students, etc., will meet with the faculty in the KIVA from 2 to 3 p.m. to talk about some of the challenges they had entering and staying at Davis; what the staff did well to help them learn; what were some barriers they encountered; what could have been done differently; and how did their Davis experience influence them personally and professionally. This will be an opportunity for the former students and their teachers to celebrate successes as well as learn how to better serve future ESL students. (Contact: Jerry Cole, Davis Teacher, 573-2535)
