Dawn and I both froze, our eyes locking on each other as we listened in dead silence. “This just in! The religious war which began with massive uprisings and anarchy three days ago has multiplied. Our armies have been infiltrated resulting in these forces being deadlier and stronger.” “China has threatened to let off their nuclear bombs and the America’s have retaliated, while Russia has declared that if that is to happen they have developed a newly designed nuclear warhead that could destroy half the planet. We are urging all citizens to get to safety! If you have a bunker, now would be the time to make use of it.” And then for the first time since we had installed the TV there was a loud static noise and the picture changed to the colourful lines of a station with no broadcast followed by a grating and consistent high pitched beep. I could literally feel all the blood leave my face. Dawns eyes suddenly looking massive, penetrating into my own like she could see right through me. “It’s time isn’t it?” She murmured, and I nodded. It was time for me to say my goodbyes. youtube/watch?v=30wdBIaNsCc
