Dawn at Mabry Mill Mabry Mill, at milepost 176 along the Blue Ridge Parkway in southern Virginia in one of the most photographed locations along the parkway. Yesterday morning the CNPA northwest division held their monthly outing at this location. I arrived early, about 6:15am, wanting to make my images soon after sunrise as possible, to have a very slow shutter speed to smooth the water and maximize the reflection. After choosing my location, setting up my camera, I had to ‘shoo’ a resident duck out of the water so there would be no disturbance to the water surface.
