Day -3 Today we drove to Omaha beach , one of the places our men landed on D-day. Then we went to Pointe du Hoc which looks over Omaha beach. The rangers had to scale 100 foot cliffs to get to the top . The land has been left as it was 70 years ago..... Battle scarred. Next we went to St Mare Eglise which was the first town liberated from German occupation. Pretty amazing to stand where so much has taken place. We spent the rest of the day in the airborne museum . Went home to a great dinner. The kids were all Ready to watch the Texans game when the internet went out, so they headed to the next town and watched it at a McDonalds! I am sure the people got a kick out of all these Americans watching football!
