Day 1/2. Hello from Rwanda! Id like to say Im doing something noble on this trip but such is not the case...this is kind of a road trip to Kilgali and the surrounding area. We hopped in the Land Rover with Andrew, our guide, and headed North to Akagera National Park on a two day safari. Checked into Ruzizi tented lodge and and headed over to Lake Ihema for a boat ride to look for game...successful sightings of Hippo and Crocodile in the water and dozens of different birds. Then went driving thru the park until dinner looking at herds of antelope, wart hogs, baboons, Marmocets, Columbus Monkeys and more. Watched the sunset over the water sitting by the fire pit and listening to the hippos sing... Up early this am for more! Now the north end of the park where there are Bush Backs, Water Buffalo, Topis, Impalas, Cape Buffalo, Zebras and finally...Giraffes...the elephants and the lone Leopard eluded us but no matter...and a jillion more bird species. Tonite were needed at a business dinner which apparently features a BBQ and croquet...
