Day 1 is in the books and Im back at camp sitting in the rain. I found and was on good fish all day and had plenty of bites. However I had about a dozen good fish on the line and every single one came unbuttoned before I could get them to the boat. Needless to say I am very frustrated and bewildered. Its gonna be a long night lying in the boat thinking about that one. I need a really good sack tomorrow to make up the ground I lost today. Probably 15 to 17 lbs. my amateur, Verlin Janzon, pictured above, had the same problem all day but managed to get 2 good ones to the scales. Thanks again for all the prayers and well wishes. They mean more to me than you all know. Especially today. I feel truly blessed. Now I just need the rain to stop so I can reorganize my gear for tomorrow. At least I got the cover on the boat so my bed will stay dry.
