Day 1 (of 21) of Prayer and Fasting: 2 Chronicles 7: 14 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Today in prayer I felt led to prayer of repentance for myself. This scripture spoke to me. We are not only called to pray, but to take action and turn from our ways. God has promised that He will hear! He will forgive our sins! And He will heal out land! But it first starts from us and personal repentance. We are not responsible for the healing of our land (God is responsible for that). We are to just draw close to Him and focus on our ways that have gone stray. The rest is up to God. Oh Lord I confess that I have looked to people, circumstances and material and earthly things for fulfillment, self worth, and false sense of security. So often I have turned my eyes from you and have felt so empty and broken. Today Lord I turn my eyes back on You and seek Your face. I drink of Your Love and Goodness. Then I am made whole again. It is only then that I am able to turn from my wicked ways. It is only then that I can love my enemies (and sometimes my family and those closest to me!) instead of hate them. It is then that I can truly forgive instead of hold a grudge. It is only then that I can truly lay my life down for my brothers and sisters instead of being self consumed and looking for others to serve me. Oh Lord I repent of self idolatry. Today I turn my eyes back to You.
