Day 10: I am grateful for missionaries. Around 56 years ago, two L.D.S missionaries came knocking on my late mothers door. She was young and in college at the time. She explained how she had never been able to fully accept all the teachings of the church she had been raised in. She had been searching for answers to deep questions she had in her soul. My mother hated confrontation and when these two missionaries came to her door, she made an appointment with them and purposely evaded them. These persistent missionaries (who were being led my the spirit) continued to pursue her. After a few times of missed appointments, they finally wised up and showed up at her door announced. She let them in and began questioning them. She described her conversion story to me and said that she felt she had finally found all the missing puzzle pieces she had been searching for. My mother was truly converted and never looked back. She left a beautiful legacy of righteousness, charity, service, and stalwart faithfulness. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was her strong foundation and brought her through some very dark times of trial in her life. She was the perfect example of amazing strength and I owe a great deal of gratitude to two very persistent and loving missionaries who sacrificed two years of their lives without any kind of monetary award (as a matter of fact, L.D.S. missionaries pay for their own missions). Their loving service has now affected generations. =)
