Day # 101 Are is back in town, bringing stories of his travels and the people he has met on his journey. He also brings with him a coil of winter lights that was install tonight to create a vertical sculpture, which will act as a beacon for me to return to on my late evenings from the site. My ears are filled with Ares piano music as I eat my breakfast. It is so incredibly nice to have some good company and your own private chef who is eager for home cooked meals after living of hotel food for too long. Some doe (for bread), a deer, a female deer (on its way from Ares Sami contact). To come home to an amazing Klipfisk dinner and to return again later in the evening to the smell of freshly baked bread... What a life. Hats off to the chef! Nature does affect us and what we create, whether it be architecture, art, literature, music, dance, or any other creative undertaking. The work of Are Andreassen is tribute to this, as his practice evolves in and of this place. Some of his work inhabits the landscape. Others are born from his mind; his work as a canvas for distilling thoughts as he draws on a lifetime of understanding of the place. As he has proven to us, this will be a highly engaging and inspirational place for future arts and cultural events. We are building a bridge between the Arts, Culture and Place to create a sustainable business model that supports current and future generations. - Andy Devine
