Day 11 Beating the blues…no not my beloved football - TopicsExpress

Day 11 Beating the blues…no not my beloved football team…for some unknown reason and to be honest I had a sort of down mood today…probably as I was cooped up in the apartment all day…note to self: get out more! Having said that, writing this does help me to focus on the positives and in so doing, I can also appreciate what went well as well as what ‘could be better’ lol. So what went well today then I hear you cry? Well the number one thing that went well was the confirmed booking for LJ & Jess to come to Rio in April during their Easter school holidays – all booked and confirmed and I cannot wait :-) Another thing went well – I caught up with my homie Rod…good to chat with you over a Skype video link and to hear that you didn’t even realize that I was using my iPhone (i.e. picture quality was that good) it was a testament to this technology. Great to chew the cud of the latest news and the odd bit of goss (well why not?) and thanks for taking a keen interest in my girls well-being whilst I am here with offers to get together, lifts and all manner of other ways in which you support them both practically and emotionally – it means a lot to me…thank you. What else – well some would say this is bad but in fact, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining…my visa application is going to take quite a while to come through…so that’s bad right? Well not if it means that I have to leave the country just before 90 days are up it doesn’t, as that means that I get to fly back to the UK, spend a little time there before legally flying back into Brazil :) A tourist visa is only valid for 90 days you see. So, slow bureaucracy (‘this is Brazil’ is a common phrase used here) leads to seeing my family sooner rather than later…glass half full has its merits ;) What else? Well the 3 of us (Tia, Natty & me) sat down to eat dinner together – just us – all at the same time – so we got to have one of our dinner table conversations that I at least love and enjoy. Finally, after midnight UK time (10pm here) the mid-week edition of Match of the Day was available to view and so I duly did…well half of it at least; so more to watch today. I even deliberately do not skip through the theme tune now, as I would when replaying a recorded version back in the UK, it gives me a tingly feeling to hear it now I guess. Feeling better already :)
