Day 11-Danny-UNC Burn Center Just was with Danny when the doctors did rounds. They didnt come in the room, just consulted with the nurses outside the door. The nurse told me, short version is that he is doing better than last week. They test the contents of his stomach to make sure if hes taking his feedings ok, and he didnt have much in there. That means he is digesting the feedings. They did an ultrasound of his intestines, etc., and that was fine. They got results of his infection, didnt tell me what it was, (but Ill find out). They took him off 2 antibiotics, and started something different, because of the results of the infection lab work. Blood pressure is lower, kidneys doing what theyre supposed to be doing. The nurse told me they give him a vitamin cocktail as part of his medicine. I was pleased with that. I thought he was getting just the medicines. She said there was Vitamin C and Zinc that he gets, with other vitamins. I saw his left eye open a little slit. Told the nurse, she said Oh, his swelling is going down. Would have been nice for it to mean he was waking up. But, he needs to be out for as long as he can to get better. Nurse said his wound area is looking fine. I had a nap today. Yay!
