Day 118 of Thankfulness. The purchase of the 2nd minibus provided an opportunity to help some relatives. Moms cousin BERNABE Abe BERSAMIN together with his wife and 2 kids were invited over to join our household. Uncle Abe took charge of the 2nd vehicle while my sister Annie enjoyed the bonus of 2 playmates thrown in - Nonoy and Josephine were about her age. Their stay was shortlived. An armed goon followed his prey into Uncle Abes minibus,.. shot and killed the guy right inside the vehicle causing all the passengers to panic and scamper through every passage possible. All the injured were brought to hospitals and clinics for treatment, some making unreasonable demands for damages. All in all, the tragic event drained the finances of dad and mom, caused the departure of Uncle Abe and his family for fear of his life... and in the end the decision to dispose the 2 vehicles. Gloom hung in the air throughout the ordeal... but in a few months, a silver lining broke through the dark clouds as the Central Bank issued the license for the Rural Bank of Tabuk to operate signalling a new beginning. New beginnings... fulfillment of promises and Gods faithfulness through time. Thank You Lord for TEACHING US TO LOOK AHEAD... despite setbacks. Like a sprinter who has to step back to allow for momentum to build up, so are setbacks when taken in the light of our Christian faith. You are a Great God... You put our setbacks right at the heart of Your Great Design and turn them around to bless us. Your Name be praised!
