Day 12: The Glorious Mysteries Roses are older than human beings, older even than hominds. There are fossils of roses that go back 35 million years. The oldest rose today is the Rosa Gallica, or French Rose, which seems to have originated in Southern France and in Turkey where the earliest known statues to the goddess have been found. When we take up the Way of the Rose we place ourselves on a long, long path through time, from birth to death to rebirth.
