Day 12 in ICU. Ears, nose, throat specialist just brought Tan out of operating room, she is BREATHING ON HER OWN with high flow oxygen!!!!!!!!!! NO MORE RESPIRATOR. She is trying to talk but sounds like cartoon character - she was very sleepy so we only saw her for 5 min. She knows the tube is out and she was so happy. Drs said her airway/throat is still quite swollen and will remain sore for awhile. She has a good period of recovery work , but the journey much easier now :) Just wanted to let you all know the good news!!! Will keep you posted about her progress and when shes ready for visitors/phone calls :>]
