Day 13 - November 18, 2014 Laptop will not open FB after multiple attempts so this will be short. Answered prayers - 1)garden hose has been removed from his throat and even with trach tube sticking out of his neck, he appears to be so much more comfortable. Surgery went well but took 2 hours instead of 30 minutes. They have kept him sedated throughout the day to give the trach some time to heal. Still on ventilator. 2) Fever broke and he was fever free all day yesterday. Infectious disease dr. doesnt think he has infection so stopped one of the two antibiotics. Specific prayer needs- 1) he started a fever again this morning, came down with tylenol so pray for supernatural wisdom for dr. to identify source of fever; 2) when he wakes up he still will not be able to talk but in a whisper. Pray that he and all of us will have patience as this has the potential to cause frustration for all; 3) pray for Gods timing in moving him to the next place and wisdom in choosing the right place for him to rehab; 4) finally for pain management as he is awake and weaning off the ventilator. I am so grateful for the prayers and encouragement that has been offered so freely and earnestly on our behalf. I know that many prayers h already been answered and more to come. Casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 The other young mans surgery went well also. More later. :)
