Day 13 - Shabbos... We are in Fairbanks, AK... Candle lighting time was 9:02pm and Shabbos ended at 10:42pm. A nice quiet and restful Shabbos. We played Gin Rummy, ate, davened, rested, ate some more and slept a lot. At just before 7pm we felt the room shaking and realized it was an earthquake. After Shabbos I looked it up and it was a 5.1 earthquake centered 43 miles NW of Fairbanks. No damage was reported. Growing up in Southern California where earthquakes are common, it was not alarming to us in any way. Later tonight we are going out to try and view the Northern Lights. It should be very visible tonight.
