Day 13.... I am thankful for Firefihters paid and volunteer....Unless you know one no one ever sees the dedication, training, blood, sweat and yes Tears of these men and women....they are called out on the hottest of hot days, the coldest of nights, rain, sleet, tornados, hurricanes, flooding, wild land fires, they miss birthdays, anniversarys, football games, Church, the family get together, Holidays, and goodnight prayers, school functions,to name a few....they are called out and respond with compassion, and dedication......they dont show emotion but once out of sight they may let go...they see the worse in accidents, cradle the hand of someone as they extract, try to comfort the injured, say a private prayer knowing that person may not make it...they are woken in the middle of night, or may have never gotten to go to sleep, they are there With a smile on their face and pride in their eyes as they show kids around the station....sometimes they sit down to eat only to run for the alarm has gone off......they are responding...so the next time you hear a siren please pull over get out of the way and say a prayer of thanks for your firefighter...I pray you never need them....but thankful they will be there...thankyou
