Day 13, June 24 Mom and Dad gave us a gift today. They kept Emma and Erin for the day so the rest of us could spend it at the Louvre. It was simply wonderful - period. The sheer grandeur of the architecture of this former palace is reason enough to make the trip, but add in the greatest art and artifact collection in the world, and this is a must see every time we come. When we arrived, the ticket line wrapped around the glass pyramid and was said to be a two hour wait. While we were consulting the guide book for a Plan B, we were approached by a friendly Texan to advised us that she always buys her tickets down one block at the Louvre Museum of Music, which are good for the whole museum. She made our day! We were second in line at the Music entrance, and were inside the pyramid within a couple minutes! The rest of the day was soul enriching as we saw old favorites, world famous classics and discovered new wonders. We concluded our grown up day back on Rue Cler with a lovely dinner at Cafe du Marche outside on the patio for a true Paris experience. Duck confit and plenty of Cote du Rhone helped create a memory I will revisit often.
